Ok since going off amitiza I thought it would stop the number of times I go have a bm,it's stopped the dreaded D but I still have been going frequently.I feel like each time I have not evacuated enough when I was on the amitiza it made me go more times but with formed stools. Now even though I've been eating the foods with fiber my stools are taking thier sweet time to come out I'm straining and they are not formed well. What the **** I keep having having to relieve myself more times not feeling like each time is enough.Lord have mercy on me this is so ****ing frustrating I just want to take a good dump today why the **** is my digestive system moving soo dam slow.No wonder I feel like things may never get better I feel I'm always at the mercy of my body going along with the flow of what it ****ing wants to do.I just want a ****ing balance to everything, questions could this be a sign maybe of colon cancer? is there something wrong with my colon? is it contracting to much or something? Help I need answers to why I'm moving my dam bowels so dam much.

jt - I suspect this isn't go to be an overnight fix or cure. It will take time for your body to adjust to being off Amitiza? Try your very best to relax. I know I've mentioned several of my tactics or tricks, but one is to lie to myself, if I'm feeling awful I almost try to trick my mind into thinking, eh, I'm only slightly messed up. I'll feel better soon. Does it work? Sometimes yes it does. Especially if I'm away from home (traveling, on trips, etc.).

Hopefully someone will post about what it was like when they went off meds?
- Rectal Cancer 4/29/99, Stage I, no treatment necessary
(5 hour colon resection: 90% sigmoid removed, 15 inches of colon removed, gall bladder removed, temporary colostomy, reversed 8 weeks later)
- Chronic IBS/D symptoms, multiple bm's, on low residue diet
- Takes Colace 50 mg each evening
