im 19 years old and ive been having blood on my stools for probably almost a year now.. it seems to be getting worse . Its on the tissue when i wipe, in my stools, and in the water.. cant tell if its in the stool though. Sometimes its ALOT and other times not much, but it happens with almost every bowl movement. I dont itch and im hardly ever constipated so i dont think its hemorrhoids, although my mother says she used to have them all the time. Ive been avoiding going to the doctor cause everything ive found on the internet says its prob nothing serious if its bright red in color. Please what do you think it could be??

Whenever you have blood in your stool it should be checked out. You can also have internal hemorrhoids.

Were you already diagnosed with IBS?

It's probably hemorrhoids but its possible it could be IBD (crohn's disease/ulcerative colitis). The best way to find out exactly what's causing it is to go to your doctor, tell them about it and more than likely they'll at least set you up for a sigmoidoscopy if not a full colonoscopy. Neither test is really that bad but if you've been bleeding and you haven't had either you should see about getting one of them.
