Let's get right to it, if I drink any caffeine, ANY, I'm fine until several hours later. Then I start to feel very bloated, constipated, and have the not so friendly gas. This can last anywhere from a couple days to a WEEK! It's been about a year since I drank it regularly, about two cups of coffee a day. I also had appendicitis about two years ago resulting in the removal of said organ. Previous to that, I had nearly three years of intense stomach pain for about 12 hours, once a month or so. Of course, I seem to be nearly undiagnosable with my conditions (or at least I was for that stretch and this). Anyway, since that operation the pain has gone away and I am without an appendix. What I'm wondering is what might cause such caffeine intolerance and could it be the lack of appendix?? If not, what??? Please share.

Caffeine is a drug and people have intolerences for a whole host of different reasons. It maybe in the way your body handles caffeine, an increased sensitivity to it, maybe a reduced removal or excretion of it. Regardless of cause, the only way to deal with it is avoidance sadly, but there are plenty of caffeine-free products on the market.

As to the appendix, I don't think this was the cause of your caffeine intolerance!
