I'm usually at the UC forum but I read things here often because I have IBS and UC.
Peppermint oil capsules work well for gas, buscopan (google it) works well for cramping and IBS pain can be bought at a pharmacy need ask for it.
Probiotics are very important to take a couple times a day on an empty stomach they put the good bacteria back into the colon Renew Life Ultimate Flora Critical Care and Bio-k work great.
Metamucil (with sugar) fibre is also important to absorb water in the colon, helps to bulk and pass stool and keeps you regular. Start with a small amount at bedtime and slowly increase the amount.
If you start with the Metamucil and Probiotics you should hopefully see an improvement in your IBS
