Hi there, I am new to this too. I v been on the fodmap diet for about 5 weeks. 1st two weeks was great, proper stools then it got worse. Todate all my problems which is all ibs symptoms are alot worse. I joint here to see if I was missing something. I v had an endoscopy to look at Bowles and a ultra sound scan done but nothing found. Yet my sister has all the same symptoms but she bleeds from her rectum her endoscopy was also clear. I m starting to give up trying to find out what's wrong.
I would say the fodmap diet is good if you want to start introducing wheat, gluten, dairy (lactose) etc slowly after a few weeks. It s a very long way to find out what's going on in my mind. It also costs loads more on your food bill, because your buying more food to cook from scratch, watch out for the free from foods, they always contain something you shouldn't have e.g onions and fructose. Chat sites are good they contain recipes that other people have done. You can cook your normal food just change what your using e.g dairy free butter, dairy free Mayo.
