This is my first post on IBS but I do post on Fibro thread and a couple of others. I was diagnosed with IBS almost 30 years ago and I was totally embarrassed about
BM's. Well now I am older and supposed to be wiser but I still find the subject uncomfortable. I have spent so many years with constipation, sometimes I would go for months without a problem and then BAM there is was again. My Dr yesterday almost fell off her chair when she asked if I had a BM every day and I told her I in the last year they are getting very infrequent so she asked for an example and I told her most weeks I have 1 or 2, At least once a month I do not have a BM for a week and I have gone as long as 3 weeks without. She has scheduled me for a colonoscopy and had given me instructions to use lax a day or Colyte daily and I am to call her if these are not helping. How long before lax a day starts working? I have been told that Colyte tastes horrible and since I will have to drink a gallon of it for the prep I would rather not start it now and not be able to gag it down for the procedure. Just thinking about
this is bothering me I'm actually surprised I am writing about
BM's. My hubby tells me every day about
his body functions and I find it crass but here I am telling everyone. I have put my gallon jug in the fridge and have my lax-a-day by the sink in kitchen so I am
opening up communication on the subject.
