So, im young. 23 year old male and I've been seeing what I thought was blood in my stool. So I got these test strips for detecting blood to make sure I wasnt seeing things. Well, I did the control test and it worked fine showing positive. I had a bowel movement and I saw what looked like blood added the test strip, it showed no color meaning a negative result. As the test was actually geared towards early detection of Colon Cancer its still only for testing for blood in the stool.

The instructions say to use it 3-5 times to be sure yet after the test strip showed a clear result I added some more "Positive Control" powder and it immediately showed positive so the strip wasnt wrong in the first detection.

The "blood" is usually mixed in with the stool and oddly looks like a red square but at other times it looks like rolled up tomatoe skin on the rare occasion that its seperate from the stool.

I've had some stomach problems recently with muscle spasm's and was passing yellow stool and Diarrhea but this has all stopped while what looks like blood remains.

Has anyone else had such problems? Or know what I might be experiencing? I recently had a doctors visit and they gave me an Abdominal CT scan, blood work, urology and a Chest X-ray that all came back clear. I am considering looking for a clinic but none of them around here examine Stool or other "rectal" problems. Help!

Blood in stool in my experience is not a finite drop or controlled blob. It is streaky and will appear on the wipe you use, also. Of course, "occult" blood cannot be seen and that's what those strips are testing for.

Perhaps you are passing something you ate, for example a tomato skin.

You should see a doctor and get checked out.
