I've been having constant pressure and discomfort for 6 weeks now in my lower back that is slowly driving me crazy. It seems to be right above the rectum.
I'm an otherwise healthy 23 year old male and was battling constipation before this terrible constant discomfort struck me. It seemed that stress really aggrevated my symptoms. I had been eating a lot of 'healthy' food everyday but not going to the bathroom for 2-3 days at a time and my colon was getting very full.
And that's when the problem started. I woke up one morning (April 23 2011) and I felt a lot of pressure and discomfort. I wouldn't call it pain. It persists no matter what I eat or how often I exercise.
I'm now making bowel movements daily (often multiple times daily). Complete and "full looking" and other times they look like more stringy. They often change in shape (start out small and end large or vise versa) when they are not "full looking".
If I were to eat raw vegetables like cucumbers or green peppers or eat cheese, I have terrible gas for about
half a day and this sounds like a symptom of IBS.
I'm still waiting for a specialist after talking to several doctors as I live in Canada and free health care takes forever. I'm considering going to private health care because I can barely do simple tasks now.
An X-ray of my colon showed that I have an abnormal amount of poop in my colon.
I'm having a very hard time coping because this is now the 6th week of this terrible discomfort.
Tylenol isn't helping much.
