I have had for a few years some very minor ibs symptoms, and i haven't gone to a gastro because my mom has ibs and changing my diet helps relieve symptoms. Mainly not eating fatty foods helps. I am also lactose intolerant, which just adds its own problems.
But recently I have been having a lot more problems, my stomach has been hurting on and off for over a week now. Now i just got a job at Mrs. Fields
cookies and spent a month over eating
cookies (which are fatty) and in general not being careful about
what i have been eating. I thought it was my lactose intolerance, but not eating dairy has not made a difference. So i am thinking its the ibs. I tend to be having stomach problems when i eat too fast or too late at night, when i eat fatty foods, as well as just randomly bothering me when i am not being careful.
Does this sound like ibs to you??
I was reading up on ibs symptoms, and all of the common ones seem to fit my situation, "Irritable bowel syndrome is a disorder characterized most commonly by cramping, abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, and diarrhea." Gas seems to be VERY common for me right now.
I have heard that stress makes ibs worse, is this true?
I was also considering trying activia, but am not sure if it will help or not.
