I have grade 3 prolapsed internal hemmroids and a few external hemmroids. My colorectal surgeon has recommended a new prodecure called THD. He has only done the procedure 4 times and I do not want want to be his 5th. After reading about
the procedure, they say the more experienced the doc is with doing the procedure, the easier the recovery.
Has anyone out there had the procedure done and can you share your experience- how much pain and what was the recovery? How long before you felt better? Does it work on prolapsed hemmroids?
Since this is a relatively new procedure in the US, I am having a very hard time finding a colorectal surgeon with experience doing the THD procedure. If anyone knows of any doctors in MA or NJ that are experienced with this procedure, I would appreciate the name. I live in MA but have family in NJ. NY or RI would work as well but MA an NJ would be easier.
Look forward to hearing about your experience and recovery..Otherwise I will do banding but that will take months to complete and I would like to get it over with (without too much of a painful recovery). I have a low threshold to pain.
