Since 2008, this is the 4th time it has happened to me. Fierce adnominal pain on the right side, fever, and I'm telling the doctor its like being shot by a weapon from the inside out. Blood work comes back fine...ct scan comes back almost normal... ct revealed the culprit for fierce pain. Swollen Lymph Nodes. The hospital didn't know what was going on, suspected an infection of some sorts. They prescribed Bentyl, a drug normally to help IBS, and it makes the pain level down to an dull ache. Also, because of all the pain, the hospital had to put me on emergency heart medication... all the pain my heart rate shot up to the 170s which is at heart attack risk. Two ivs later, drugged on morphine, hallucinating (hey I told them not to give morphine to me by IV but they didn't listen.... I said pill or shot form only), on heart pills I finally get told I can go home and was given more bentyl, metoprol (heart meds but also known for blood pressure).
Upon my research I noticed Bentyl is great for IBS symptoms. With that, I'd like to ask you guys what your symptoms were before you got diagnosed. I'm debating if I really need a colonoscopy or if I'm just fine
