Hello, I am new here(to post, I have been a lurker for a little bit though) am I was wanting to see if you all could help me out.

First I suffer from Anxiety(health anxiety) so you know this is just beating my mind up! I was also diagnosed with IBS by my Dr. a few months ago. It started because I was feeling this cramp type ache on my left side near my love handle, so I went to see my Dr.
A couple months before I had a UTI and they did a scan on my abdomen so he said since it wasn't too long ago he didn't need another scan, he gave me a pamphlet(IBS pamphlet) and a prescription for a stomach relaxer, well it worked! I only use it when my stomach is bothering me to the point that I have to take one, which is not that often.

Now though I am having a burning ache on my right side near my love handle, it has been bothering me for about a couple weeks now, on and off, sometimes all day long sometimes on and off during the day. It has never been to where I can't stand it or it hurts so much that I have to go to the ER but on it worse day it has bothered me enough to get my anxiety up and my mind racing. Like I said, it is a burning ache that comes and goes, under my right rib right around the love handle area. Yesterday I noticed that it wasn't bothering me until I ate dinner, which consisted of some oven roasted chicken and a side or re-fried beans(this is what came to mind!) with-in an hour or so it started to hurt, and a little more than the usual annoying pain.

Also the other day I took my son to see the Dr. (my Dr. is his also) and was having an episode that day also, I was going to book an apt. to see both of us because my thing but before I booked it I went to the restroom and after that the pain pretty much went away for the rest of that day! I went ahead and just got an apt for my son and while I was there I mentioned it to her and she didn't seem all worried, just asked me if I have been taking a lot of over the counter meds ( I am assuming pain relievers). I told her no and then she told me to take some over the counter things to make me go regular(poo). I have never had constipation problem much before, more now because of the IBS but still not a whole lot. I do have the different changing textures poo (soft one day, more solid te next) but rarely full blown constipation.

Has anyone ever had this? Or know what the hell it could be? I Google and the results come up-Gallbladder, Gall Stones, IBS, Constipation, Liver Problems, Gas, CANCER!(hate that every little thing is cancer nowadays) Ulcers, Hurt Muscle. Some ppl with IBS say they get a pain where I have it but ave not seen "burning" pain (google search again)

Can anyone help? I have an at tomorrow but with my anxiety, my mind is going at 110mph!

Sorry this is a late reply but like you researched, there can be many explanations to what is causing this so I hope the doctor will be able to provide you answers. I know how scary it can be but hang in there and please let us know what you find out.

One thing I would highly recommend is a full abdominal CT Scan. It showed everything for me, including a small hiatal hernia I did not know I had. Best 35 dollar co-pay I ever spent!!!!

I'm back, @U_Hydrae I had one of those done back in the beginning of the year and also showed I had a hernia. Well my Dr. thinks it is a pinched nerve in my lower back, we did blood work, urine tests and a abdomen sonogram to see if it might be stones but everything came back normal. It has left me alone, I think my anxiety made it worse, like it does ever little ache and pain I feel.

So this is my update.
