You might find this hard to believe, but one of the things that would probably really help you is to cut out ALL grains (I mean all) for one week and then cut out ALL wheat after that.
Grains, especially wheat, make up our 'comfort foods'... breads, pastries, pastas, cake, noodles, etc... and believe it or not ... it has the SAME EFFECT in that area of the brain as VALIUM does.... this is why so many people refuse to give grains up even if they were promised they would get well.
I'm not saying its easy...but you can eat all the meat, fruit, and veggies you want...but not one teaspoon of gravy...
If you would read the book Wheat Belly ...you would be in for a lot of shocks. This is the reason the Paleo diet is become popular world wide. I can do dairy, however.

Just want to add...for the most part: 'gluten free' is a total waste of time....this is being proved more and more every day...
