Hi, I've not officially been diagnosed with IBS, but I thought this forum could be of the most assistance.
I have bowel movements pretty often and usually go several times before work which has always been normal for me. Now I typically go at work a minimum once a day. That's becoming the new "normal".
The weird thing is the inconsistency in the shape of the stool. Sometimes there are nuggets, sometimes it's clumpy, sometimes it looks like a banana. The color is usually good. If having diarrhea, I typically see some yellow liquid in the toilet water and it can be cloudy on occasion. Usually brown others. Sometimes the smells also differ. Often, I smell nothing in the bathroom, but the toilet paper will smell differently (gross, I know). For example, I've been twice this morning and within a few minutes the TP smelled differently. It had a fishy smell the first time and was more normal (but smelly) the second time. Most stools aren't hard to pass, either. Monday, I had some bathroom urgency. I went and then my stomach hurt after. This nugget of stool floated. Most of mine sink. I've also seen mucus at times.
I do have a stool culture currently being analyzed by a lab. On occasion, I take dicyclomine. I take Pepcid three times a day.
I did have fundoplication surgery last year to help with reflux. I've been bad ever since.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and assistance.
