Hey all!

I have been reading a lot of alternative medicine books on the subject of digestive disorders.  It seems that "if you want to know how someone's intestines are, you should look at thier skin."  Granted this does make sense, after all the skin is a large organ of the body.  Now, I have terrible skin, always have, after reading that I thought that it was logical.  Does anyone else find that they have IBS and skin problems?

A bit before my diagnosis I felt so full of poision that I started using natural skin products and watching everything I ate, I have noticed that during attacks my skin also flares up.  Maybe this is all a crazy coincidence and I am simply influenced by the power of suggestion, but has anyone else noticed this?  Any suggestions?  (it sucks to be embarressed by skin and my bowels!!!)

Hope you all have a great day!

I don't think that I have heard about the connection between the two. I don't have too many problems with my skin on my face except for the occasional minor breakouts around that time of the month. I do have Keratosis Pilaris on my arms and legs but I don't know if that has anything to do with this. Hmm, this is interesting, I think that I will google this a bit. :)

Hmmm... I haven't heard about the connection between the gut and skin.  I do, however, know that what we eat has an impact.  I don't have bad skin.  Like dbab, I only breakout every now and then, and usually around the time of the month or when I have eaten a lot of junk (sweets, fried foods, etc.).  I do have sensitive skin though... but I don't think that is the same.  ???

Our bodies are connected in every way I believe...our skin is definitely affected, and nails and hair when you have bowel problems, and other health issues too I'm sure.

Take care

I do have dry, damaged hair. It falls out a lot too (I'm currently trying to figure that one out with the docs).
