She drew two tubes of blood for food allergy testing and sent me home with a "parasite pack" that included, among other things...TWO BOTTLES OF FLEET PHOSPHOSODA!  I almost had a freakin' heart attack!  Then I read the instructions..."Only use Fleet if you are having hard stools." Like THAT'S ever a problem for me.  So thank goodness, no Fleet necessary.  She'll send those to the guru in Arizona, who tests for something like 40+ parasites.  Much more thorough than any GI I've seen.

She said that she'd like to do these steps first before going for a Prometheus test, because her hunch is that it is a parasite I picked up in Africa all those years ago.  The question is, if it is an African bug, you mean to tell me those 4-5 courses of Flagyl over the years did nothing to stop them?  What WILL stop them?  I wonder...

Anyway, will keep you updated, of course.  In the meantime, I have had three semi-formed poos today and am very proud of myself for this!

Yay Sarita,  semi-formed poop tongue .  Who knew something so "ordinary" could bring a smile to the face.

I sooo hope you get an answer this time.  You are truly an inspiration to me :-) .

I'm with Softy... Sarita, you are an inspiration.  How do you do it?

I really hope this guru has answers for you.

Wow Sarita... test after test after test... visit after visit..... I am rooting for you that you can get some answers but more and more leaning towards feeling like they are going to have to name something after you... I feel so bad for your frustration

I am sure she will get to the bottom of it.  She is just an awesome doctor and is totally open-minded.  SHE is the inspiration.  Thank you for all of your support, guys.  I am optimistic things will improve.  I think maybe they've started to already; I haven't had a 15+ day since Mayo!
