Hey, I think most of us have been here at one point! Its not nice to see these kinds of changes in our bowel movements, we're kind of conditioned to panic but in reality its very rarely anything serious.
If it would help you have more peace of mind you can speak to your doctor (preferably a colorectal or gastroenterologist) and ask them to run some tests for any infections etc. It may be that you have a little something going on. Equally, it might just be ibs, that your gut flora has been disturbed by you being unwell. Your doctor (or even the knowledgeable people on here) can offer you suggestions about how to combat this, be it probiotics or diet or lifestyle changes.
Often with ibs you need to tweak a few things in order to help yourself, so maybe look at your diet and exercise, and at your stress levels. All of these can contribute to changes in bowel habits and it often takes more than one adjustment to find whats right for you.
As far as mucus goes youre in good company here! We all have or have had it at one point no doubt, all different colours, at different times, with or without stool, with or without wind. Its very common. You maybe will be stressed by it initially but try not to let it bother you, eventually you will get used to it and it won't trouble you so much. :)
