I was recently given these three diagnosis by my Gastroenterologist (Steatosis (is not NASH), IBS and Rapid Small Bowel).
I have chronic diarrhea for about
nineteen months (very bad smelling). Sometimes I feel that I am emitting a horrible smell but no one else can smell it but myself. I assumed it was from drinking bad water but have been through about
three rounds of medicine to kill parasites and antibiotics but no help.
My GI doctor put me through the ringer testing. I had a colonoscopy, small bowel x ray, endoscopy, ultrasound followed by a liver biopsy. about
a week ago I went in to get my results and was given the three diagnosis. He told me to take Imodium for my diarrhea and to lose weight. I asked which foods I could eat and he told me to get a book call "Sugar Busters".
I have tried to find if their are trigger foods that cause this horrible smell. Sometimes I think it is sugar, dairy or lactose. I have felt that what I eat moves so quickly out of my stomach (sounds like a hurricane going through my system) that it was reaching my intestines not broken down possibly causing the putrid
smell. Most of the time it is there but on occasion it disappears.
If anyone else has had to deal with anything similar my questions are will the Imodium stop food from moving out of my stomach so quickly? and has anyone experienced such a smell before?
