I have noticed over the last week or so that no matter what I have to drink, I find I have a strange taste in the back of my throat, and on occasions a weird sensation?

When i get up in the morning  I have a glass of water, and after it has gone down it feels like I have had something almost chalky, and it leaves a funny taste in my mouth.  It's only water so I can't understand it, but sometimes if i have had a glass of fizzy orange or lemonade it does the same.

I have it right now although I haven't had a drink for a while.  I also get a feeling as though I have very weak heartburn.  I was just wondering if anyone else gets feelings like this?  I dont get it after I eat, it's only when i drink, and it can sometimes be quite painful.

It does sound to me like heartburn. I get that too and I feel like I have to gargle with Listerine to try and kill it and sometimes I get that stale taste in the back of my throat. It drives me nuts. But yes, I contribute it to my heartburn. Its not pleasant.

I have heard that a proliferation of bad bacteria in the intestines can cause a bad taste in your mouth--especially in the mornings after it's set all night.  When I was having my daily diarrhea problem, I had this weird taste in my mouth that toothpaste just wouldn't touch.  In fact, I woke up with an even worse taste in my mouth if I brushed my teeth at night; I think maybe making my mouth clean just made the taste all the more noticeable the next morning.

I don't know if I had bad bacteria or not, but I no longer have the D problem daily and my mouth no longer has a weird taste.

If you think it is heartburn you can try taking Tagement (or any OTC) med to see if it helps.
If it is the bad bacteria thing you can make sure to brush your tongue thoroughly and as far back as you can. Also, keep taking the probiotics; they are supposed to balance your good bacteria which should take the yuckiness away (and also helps with bad breath).
