So how long should I wait to see the PCP for a possible UTI?  I am just so sick of going to the doctor!  I've been having cloudy pee and it started burning yesterday, and also my diarrhea is burning my bum; I'm just totally on fire down there!  I just finished a five-day course of penicillin for the strep but was taking 6 acidophilus tablets each day.  Is there anything else this burning urethra could be other than a UTI?  I am scanning my brain but not coming up with any ideas.  Haven't been sexually active for a month.  Gads oh gads.

It definietly sounds like a UTI from my experience with them. Can you tolerate cranberry juice? If you can, you may want to stock up on some as it has been known to clear it up without meds. That and drinking lots of water. It sounds to me that you may be dehydrated which is causing the problems with your urinary tract.

Thanks girls!  Des, I've heard about the cranberry theory too.  I believe with what one of the docs in that article Lil showed us said - I think it has more to do with drinking lots of fluids more than anything special in the cranberry juice.  Also I've heard that too much sugar (found in most cranberry juices unless you get the 100% cranberry kind) can make UTIs worse.  But there's no harm in trying!  I'm just going to drink gallons of fluids to see if I can steer it off.  Thanks for the advice kids!

a friend of mine found an over the counter UTI test, came with the OTC cranberry pills (no sugar, just cranberry extract)... no replacement for a doctor of course, but could be an option.
sorry girl, i hate them!

Drink, drink, drink Sarita and call the doctor. In my experience, they never get better on their own and can progress to a kidney infection. I used to get them so bad I'd have to pee in a bathtub of warm water. Just thought I'd share that :-)

Call the doctor :-)
