It's late and I should be in bed but instead I feel like crap.  sad   I had a not so great snack about 6 hours ago and dinner about 5 hours ago so I don't get why it has taking so long to affect me.  I started with the nausea right after dinner but then a couple hours ago it started to get worse and then about an hour ago I had to hit the restroom twice (but I feel like I will have to go again soon).  I'm also occasionally getting pains about 3-4 inches above my belly button.  This is new to me.  Usually I get them lower and have D (you all know those D cramps).  Anyway, I feel like my stomach, or whatever that is that hurts, is spasming.  I feel like if I was a puker I could have puked by now.  Does anyone ever get this or know what it is?  I don't like this and I really need to get to bed.  I've just taken some probiotics so I hope that will help.  I don't know what to do next.  I hate playing this waiting game.  Sometimes it takes an hour to pass sometimes it takes several.  Ughhhhh.....

(((Lil))) I'm sorry that you are feeling so bad. I does sound like spasms to me. If you are getting new pains though, I would definitely talk to your doctor about it especially if they are localized and the pain is not radiating from somewhere else. You also could have food poisoning or one of the 48 hour bugs. I really hope you are feeling better today. Do you have anything for nausea? ginger, peppermint, camomille?

If you get this stomach problem frequently, you might want to investigate getting a prescription for reglin. Reglin causes your stomach to empty. My mother has gastric problems and has always kept a prescription of it for those times when her stomach gets upset. I've used it when I get something that sits on my stomach and just will not go away. I had chips and dip a few weeks ago and ug... so greasy. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like there was just this huge pile of grease sitting in my stomach and making me nauseated. I got up, sat around for about 15 minutes, decided it wasn't going to go away by just sitting up, took a reglin and sat on the couch and read for about 30 minutes or so. When I didn't feel like there was stuff still sitting on my stomach, I went back to bed and slept well the rest of the night.

Since it empties your stomach out completely, you will be STARVING later. I was very hungry when I woke up the next morning, so I ate something and was perfectly fine. I don't know that it will help you if your stomach is cramping, but if you could take it when you first feel like your dinner or whatever is upsetting your stomach, you may get whatever it is that's bad off your stomach before it causes it to cramp.

Thanks girls! I continued with my problems through the night. The pain/spasms went away quickly (I don't know what it was) but the nausea and D stayed, as usual. I finally fell asleep around 1am and then I woke up at 4 and then 5 and then at 6 I called my boss and said I would be a couple hours late. I slept in and now I am feeling better. But I still kinda feel unstable. ??? Aunt Flow is coming to town tonight and I think that could be contributing to my yuckiness. Also yesterday I had a rough commute and a terrible work day so I think that didn't help either. I'm a wreck.
Thanks for listening. :-)

Hi Sarta, thanks for your kind words. I am feeling better. I'm still kinda blah though because I got my period. Cramps with that D feeling sucks. It's off to bed early tonight, I hope.

D + Aunt Flow = Pure Misery.  Have any Midol?  Did you work today?  You have that crazy long commute, right?  I can't imagine...I hope you're back to your cheery self soon.

Misery is right. I have already loaded up on the meds for cramps and bloating. And yes, it is I with the crazy commute. *sigh* I also have a job that is making me crazy, so right now I'm not having fun.
I'm sorry if I have been a downer lately. Sometimes this IBS gets the best of me and I don't know how to deal. I'm just really glad I have you guys to turn to.
Take care.
