My IBS seems to be getting worse and worse.

I now have had diarrhea almost continuously for the past week and a half. Usually I will take a Lomotil when I have it bad, and that will fix me up for the rest of that day, and the day after. However, then I start having the runs bad again. Usually when I start having the runs, my poo is very hard at first, then it gets softer and softer, and then out comes lots of diaherra and water! For the rest of the day I'm running to the can.

Does anyone have advice on how to stop this chronic diarrhea? I've never had it for such a long period before.

I'm with Bethuk, I take Imodium when I just can't get rid of the D. Try eating foods that are supposed to clog you up... like bananas.

Went to see the doctor, and I have a fever (about 38 degrees). Every time I have a 'flare up', I seem to get a low grade fever as well. Odd.

Mountain, has your doctor absolutely ruled out IBD?

Well, I had a colonoscopy and biopsies, which found nothing.

Well then, I guess your best bet would be to try calcium. It has helped MANY with D (and it's probably safer than Imodium).
