I saw the doctor yesterday. He said external hemorroids and will remove it, them? Dec 7th I was wondering if any of you out there have had the surgery and have any helpfull hints for me. I'm a little freaked because the doc said this will hurt a lot during recovery. Thanks in advance for any tips or advice. Patty

Hi Patty,
I haven't had the surgery but a friend of mine did. She said that sitz baths are very soothing for the pain and that her doctor said that it promotes healing as well. I'm sure someone else will be on shortly to give you some advice. Will be thinking about you and hoping for a fast recovery.

Hi Patty,
I don't have hemies but I wanted to wish you well. I'm sorry you have to have surgery but I am glad you are taking the step towards the answer to your problem. Please let us know how it goes.
Take care.

When I had my so-called "hemmie surgery" they told me to take a stool softner so not to put so much strain on the anus and lots of sitz baths.

Good luck, hope you recover well, here's a good link where you can find out about different types of hemmie surgeries...

http://www.hemorrhoid.net/cryptitis.php

Just lurk around the site to find video and info on the various types of hemmie surgery being done.

Take care!

Hi,  Haven't been on this site for a few months.  I was on it in July when I had a big problem with antiboitics and looked

here for a solution.  I started using IBS for Digestive Advantage which was wonderful.  After a few months I stopped, stupid me.  I am back to it after having hard BM's.  I have no problems with BM's but notice blood on the toliet paper once in a while the last 2 weeks.  I think it maybe a hemroid but get nervous with this.  Do you think I should be doing something else???  Have been using hemroid cream which does help sometimes.  Any info would be helpful.

Thanks, Judy

Hi Judy,
I would see a doc. Sometimes hemies can become serious so it is always a good idea to see a doc... especially if you have never had one.
Good luck!
