I've come across an excellent one, it's called primadophilus reuteri, Natures Way brand and have no more major urgency and no more "feeling" of incomplete evacuation.  Also, no mucus!

As some of you may know I have CD (crohns disease) and highly suspected of IBS as well.  This stuff has been fantastic, today I've only had one bowel movement, and that hasn't happend in over 14 yrs.

I use the powder, but you can get it in tabs too, but regardless, they must be kept cold to maintain it's potency.

Take care

Hey pb4, THANKS! :-)
Recently I have been trying a whole bunch of different kinds (just to test).
How many live bacteria (cultures / CFU / whaterver) does each dose of Natures Way Primadophilus have? I just took a new (new for me) Acidophilus pill with 4 billion and I had the worst gas cramps. Do you think the more cultures, the more gas? I also take a KyoDophilus pill that has 1.5 billion and that does not give me gas.
Thanks for the tip! Where do we buy this stuff of yours?

Hi 7Lil:)

I've never known probiotics to cause any problems even gas???

I buy mine locally but you can get it online from vitacost I believe. If you go to the Natures Way website, it tells how many live bacterial cultures, I don't know off hand...but I do know that equally as important getting a high number, it's also very important they reach the intestines and not just the stomach, that's why this stuff is so great, it goes beyond the stomach, very important!

I'm hoping others will try this particular brand just to see if it's a fluke for me, which I'm sure it's not, but if it's that good I want others to find relief as well.

It's been 3 weeks and today I've had ONE BOWEL MOVEMENT ALL DAY, that hasn't happend in over 14 yrs, so it's a big deal and I'm sure it's to do with this primadophilus reuteri made by natures way.

Take care

Hi joci,
Probiotics are "good bacteria" that reside in our intestines.  We need a pluthera of them to keep our digestive system working properly.
Acidophilus is a probiotic... what kind did you take and how much?  It is best if taken a refrigerated brand and to take at least 3-5 billion live cultures a day.  If the Acidohilus didn't work you can try others.  I take one that is a combination of 3 kinds of probiotics.  I'd keep looking if I were you; probiotics are great to take (for everyone, but especially IBSers).

You can also try the Calcium route...
