I had a routine colonoscopy yesterday. Results, normal, yeah. (miralax/gaterade prep)

I have ibs-d but it's rather manageable.

Today I had a bout of diarrhea which I was slightly surprised by. I could hear gurgling during the night
and just thought it was gas/air in my intestines.

Did anyone else have this issue the next day?

Having a colonoscopy (and the prep) disrupts your flora. There is no doubt about that.

You should be looking at probiotics etc for the short term. Your GI should inform you of this.

I had a colonoscopy last week, for which it showed inflammation in my rectum, but the rest of my colon seemed fine. Biopsies were taken. The lady who did the colonoscopy said the inflammation could be with taking the prep? Any one else had similar? Thanks

Depending on the prep it can irritate things. Hopefully your biopsy report will come back all clear.

Take care.

How are you feeling now? It's perfectly normal to have an upset system with unusal bms for 3-4 days following a colonoscopy as it is a very invasive procedure plus the prep.

My digestive system seems to be on the mend. I still have odd pains now and then.

I think it is a very harsh test on the body especially as we age. 10 years ago I snapped back
faster.

I am very happy I passed the test. It gives me good peace of mind.

I just joined this forum hoping to get answers or suggestions regarding my now, horrible constipation. I had a colonoscopy 13 days ago and since then I haven't had a BM. i don't feel any discomfort or pain. I take Miralax on daily basis (I have for many years) so I think the stuff is not hard, but I just don't feel like going at all. I used a suppository and I had a little BM, very liquid, and just a little (whatever was close to the suppository.) I'm very worried that my colon shut down, I don't feel any movement. Miralax hasn't been working well for months, I was having BM maybe once a week. Because of that, my GI suggested a colonoscopy. The results came out ok, he just said that my colon is extra long and twisted. He also thinks my body got used to Miralax so he suggested another laxative. I don't want to continue taking laxatives because I know that is what cause my colon to become lazy. Please help!!! What should I do?
