Hi everyone I have not posted in a Very long time. I will try to make this as short as possible and not too gross but some of it may be so be worned!! Anyway A few years ago I had a colonoscopy due to bleeding and not being able to poop. Well only results were that I had IBS and to eat fibre metamucil etc.......I had a baby 18 months ago and when he was 8 months old I started getting dizzy spells. It has been 8 months or so since and I have had 8 hospital visits and seen so many specialists. MRIs CT scans of my head etc.........My main symptoms were and still are SEVERE weakness, dizzy, shaky, etc..... I feel 90 years old and I am only 27. I can barely shower I am so weak at times. These only happened in the last year and my thyroid is slightly hypo so I was put on meds but the docs dont believe this can cause such severe symptoms. I have been so busy dealing with my thyroid issues I am starting to wonder now maybe this is all BOwel related. These are the discusting bowel problems I have and have for a long time now- I have no sensation of having to go (just tummy fullness)

-I use suppositories or my fingers (sorry gross) to stimulate my muscle every day.

-sometimes I have to dig up there just to get it all out

-my tummy is bloated

- i have pain in my lower side and once in a while flare ups of severe pain.

-sitting in the bath and using my fingers to help my bowels come is what works the best so I believe I probably get alot of water up there

-if I dont make myself go every day I feel gassy and full so I basically have to force myself but most of the time cannot push normally.

It feels as if my muscles just dont contract anymore but this has been going on since I had my colonoscopy and before that.

I dont know if anybody has had these problems but if so or you have any advice as to maybe what this is or if my symptoms of weakness and dizzy can be some type of intestinal problem etc.....please help me or give me some advice because I am so lost I dont know what to do. I am seeing a GI specialist but not until end of feb. until then I need to some how figure out how to make myself better for my baby and myself I am so ill. I dont know what is causing what symptom anymore and I am frustrated. Thank you in advance for your replies......

Has your doctor mentioned anxiety? I have anxiety disorders and one of the biggest symptom I get is vertigo with it and it can get really bad. I feel like the room is spinning and I get really sick to my stomach. Sometimes lying down doesn't help and its a really bad experience. I take antidepressant and antianxiety meds that have helped me tremendously. When this started happening, I like you went through all the tests also and nothing was found neurologically or with my heart/circulation. Thats when my doc said that it was anxiety. I didn't believe it but after talking with others with anxiety I know thats what it is. Stop by the anxiety forum if you get a chance and post a message about your symptoms. I think you'll be surprised at the responses. BTW... anxiety is not uncommon with IBS sufferers.

Hey sweetness!
What your going through sounds like a rough deal!! You probably already know this but Ive read that hypothyroidism can cause constipation, as well as narcotics, antidepressants and anticonvulsants. Are you taking any drugs like that? Also, colonic inertia prevents your muscles from propelling your poop along your colon. That could be why you have no urge to go. I dont know if they can detect colonic inertia off a colonoscopy..?? Hope everything starts getting better!!

P.S- Dbab I too have bad anxiety..not bad enough to take medication but enough to give me the shakes and a stomachache every now and then!!

Have you been to see an ear, nose and throat doctor? It could be some sort of fluid imbalance causing your problems with dizziness. Maybe meneire's disease (vertigo caused by some sort of sodium imbalance). I also get occassional dizzy spells due to anxiety but never nearly as severe as what you describe.
