Hey,

Well, i think (crossing my fingers) that i am begining to get a little better. I started drinking boost with benefiber. Not sure if i have drank enough yet. But the last few days im down to one bowl movement a day, although they are pretty explosive and watery and not very well formed.  But, im eating more , more often. So, Im praying this helps.  I still am having gas, but not as bad, and of course farts (excuse the word) and drinking more water.  Everything is trail and error i suppose. oh, i did have a question, when you have a bowel movement and your rear end burns, is that excess acid? or what?  Love this forum by the way very informative. Love to all smurf

Hello Peppertree,

I'm very glad you're feeling better, sans the gas. I wanted to know if the boost is the only fiber you are getting?  Drinking lots of water is VERY GOOD and helps with the flushing of the BM's,but sorry about the gas. I feel bloaty too.

What is your daily diet? (May I ask)

It certainly is trial and error and for me, has been so for six months. Daily cramping with stomach noises. The gas could be caused by eating  beans,cauliflower,Broccoli,onions,cabbage..just a few.

I used too eat oatmeal (Quick oats) not the packaged flavored type, with applesauce all the time before my IBS was diagnosed, then after that I continued eating that (with cramping...HELLO!!!!) until someone told me from some IBS site that Apples,(sauce, juice),was not good for IBS digestion, until it normalizes.

Now, well this morning I tried the Oatmeal with peaches, and so far, peachy-keeno. But before today, I was drinking a morning protein shake, with SOY milk,Flax seed meal, Optiflora Probiotic, strained or pulverized cranberries, blackberries, and mango...sounds much better than the oatmeal..right?  maybe it was the SOY.

Since I got this,I immediately stopped all carbonated drinks (beer,I was not much on sodas) Coffee, caffein teas, most dairy, except I heard that YOPLAIT has the good bacteria active cultures needed for the stomach.

Yes, Peppertree, I feel your pain as alot of other IBS sufferers do.

Good Luck, and write back on your diet when you feel better.
