Hi

I'm a 25 year old girl. I have suffered with on/off constipation for approximately 10 years, mainly because of disordered eating. Earlier on I have suffered with small hemorrhoids, but they never bothered me.

A month ago I was very constipated while on holiday, and went 8 days without a bowel movement.

After this, I've experienced the following symptoms:
- What I believe is a small hemorrhoid (it might even have been there all the time)
- A rather tight anal sphinter - and the anal canal feels somewhat tight too, when I try to get a finger into it
- Pain and itching with bowel movements, goes away after approx. 30 min.
- An internal 'lump' (this is what worries me the most). I can only feel it from the outside, when pressing near anus, and it's hard and can't be 'pushed around'

I'm no longer constipated though. I've started using some hemorrhoid/anal fissure creme, about 4 days ago, and I haven't really seen any results yet.

I'll probably make an appointment with my GP just in case, but it's a long wait.
I am very stressed and worried that it's something bad. I guess it's probably cancer, but I'm still worried.

I do hope that you have made an appt with your GP to be checked. With constipation issues that can certainly cause hemorrhoids because of all of the straining. You could very well have internal ones & the dr can check you to find out. I highly doubt you have cancer. Also, consider getting an OTC stool softner such as colace or Miralax. Neither will give you diarrhea, it will keep the stool soft enough to pass. They do not work like a laxative either. Be sure to stay well hydrated.

Take care.

Lots and Lots of water to help soften it and to keep you from dehydrating if you get a diarrhea attack. It's amazing how much the colon can hold. There might be all kinds of stuff still in there so I agree about the colace.

I also agree that you should see a Dr. to be checked.
