Hi..I'm new here and I am hoping that one of you can help put my mind at ease a bit.  I was diagnosed with IBS a long time ago, and although it has flared up on me often and can be a nusance, I generally can control it to a point.  about 2 weeks ago, I developed diarrhea  and gasy/bloatedness.  Feels like there are millions of bubbles in my stomach.  The diarrhea is now gone, but I am still having gasiness and bubbles.  No pain is involved, but it is annoying nevertheless.  I am kind of scared that maybe this isn't my IBS and I should be concerned?  Is it normal to have this feeling and for this long?  It's been about 2 weeks, as I said.  Has anyone else experienced this?

Have you tried any new foods or medication?

Thanks for the reply...:)

No, and in fact, I have been eating a very bland diet for the past few days or so.  I have racked my brain trying to figure out what could be causing this and can't think of anything.

Hi Sophia,  My friend had that but with pain.   The bubbles went up into her chest..  She went to the Emergency Room and they did a cat scan and found out that the bubbles was because her colon had perferated from diverticulitis...  It was very serious because the toxins from her colon where going into her body..  Now I am not saying this is what you have but you should have it checked out...    Just thought I would let you know..  Hope you feel better..                                           Ryleigh

It could just be harmless gas. Have you tried drinking peppermint tea or taking Gas-X to see if it subsides?

If it is really freaking you out you should get it checked out. Better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks everyone for your advice...

I went to the doctor last week and he told me that if my symptoms didn't improve, to give him a call.  After reading your advice, I have decided to do that.  I was kinda indecisive whether I should call him or not because I know he will want to put me through some tests and I really hate that.  But, as you said...it's better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks Again!
