Hey guys.

Man, once I though things were getting better...now today happened. So my appetite has been a bit off because ive had this killer cold with tons of nasty sinus drainage, its kinda done a number on my appetite.  I've still been eating normal meals and everything, just not as much.  Anyway, today was a good day, untill about 3:30. I had a normal bowel movement, and I started to celebrate cuz it was so normal!! And then came a headache and some nasty diarrhea, which wasnt the bile color i get sometimes but burned like crazy! sad   So I went to volleyball practice, hoping whatever was going on was over. I was okay through practice, though on the ride home I got some "oh crap im gonna go" feelings..and then I came home and felt like I was gonna have D again, but then I had to like "push" to get it out. Kinda like I was constipated..but diarrhea came out. Once again it burned. Appetite is okay tho...I just ate dinner, so im waiting to see if anything happens.  Im thinking what triggered it was at lunch today (about 10:30..early, i know.) I ate some preservative free potato chips, thinking I was doing something safe. Guess not..they make my dad feel sick too and he's like me in relation to being food sensitive. Do you think it was the chips or just a good ol IBS attack? And has anyone else had that weird "constipated diarrhea" thing?? Thanks! :)

Blondie, be sure to check out my post on gall bladder problems.  Namely fatty, greasy foods being bad and GB disease being herditary.

I have had the "constipated diarrhea" but I call it the "dry heaves."  It's when your intestines are spasaming and making you feel like you need to go but there's nothing there to poop out or else it's way back up in there and not ready to really come out.  So, I liken it to the dry heaves, which is what you get when you still have a vomiting reflex, even though there's nothing left on your stomach to vomit out.  If you have any anti-spasmodics, then would be a good time to use them.  Imodium and Pepto can help stop that too.

Thanks Keri! I think I might have to get my stupid gallbladder checked out..I dont have the severity of the attacks that you listed but I do get random diarrhea and im sooo sensitive to fatty/greasy/sugary foods!! It'll probably get worse as I get older if it is in fact my gall bladder. joy. haha

Yeah, my stomach got sensitive before I started having nightly attacks. Not many months before, but the nightly attacks, at first, happened rarely. Then they became increasingly more frequent, to the point I might have one once a week for a month or so before I'd get into remisison for a couple months. When I went off the caffeine, that helped tremendously, but eventually it got worse, to the point I started to hurt on my ride side all the time and have the lump feeling. That's when it finally got taken out.

Better out now than to live with it for 5 more years. :-(
