so once again i need to talk to someone in the medical profession BUT NO, it is a weekend!!! this always happens! i poop blood, on a sunday... i sprain my ankle, on a saturday... get fire bombed, on a saturday... flooded, on a sunday... and now i have pain in my favorite girl place after a little action this morning and planned parenthood say they have hours today--but no, the phone lady said they were closed... so what do you take when "she" hurts? is this a tylenol thing? should i sit in a bowl of vinegar?
i can only assume i have s UTI and i am mistaking pee pain for "yippee" pain... oh well, i think there are OTC remedies--but should i just wait and see a doctor first? this is not emergency room circumstances... i am just annoyed with my plumbing.
i know, i know, i need to take a page out of sarita's book and roll with it...

ok i am better now that i got that out... i will call PP again later, and make sure i get a hold of them monday... it was cute though, my husband thought it was his fault and is very concerned, poor guy has to listen to all of my gripes! is this really what "in sickness and in health" means??

take care everyone! have a fantastic saturday!!!

If it's an UTI you'll need an antibiotic.  At the drugstore, they have test kits that will tell you if it's an infection.  Uristat can ease the pain and urgency till you see a doctor.

Also, cranberry juice can help

Bunny, we are like two peas in a pod.  I'm sorry to hear about your "plumbing" problems.  Drinking a ton of fluids (and Katydid's suggestion of cranberry juice) is the ticket until you get some Keflex or whatever on your hands.  You might want to check to see if there are any urgent care medical clinics in your neighborhood.  They are way cheaper than ERs and are meant for situations like this, and they usually have Saturday hours!

Seems like all the fun stuff happens over the weekends, doesn't it?

so, i have discovered that i have some blood, (that dark old blood you get before your period...) but it is coming not from where i pee.... i am on the pill and i am like clock work-- and i am not due untill another 6 or so days... what should i do, i scheduled an appointment but it is not for another two and a half weeks--how imediate should my concerns be?
i know this has nothing to do with IBS, but there are a lot of women on this forum...

Have you changed anything? Different pill? Did you forget to take your pill for a day?
If nothing has changed and you are having this random bleeding I would suggest calling the office and asking to speak to a nurse practitioner. Or, leaving a message about your problem and having someone get back to you with what the doc says.
Trust your gut though - if you feel you shouldn't wait, then go to Urgent Care (instead of the ER).

Unless you are bleeding really heavily or are in a lot of pain, I would say just call your doctor on Monday to let them know that you are having this bleeding, and maybe they will move the appointment up.  When was your last annual exam?

i haven't changed anything nor skipped a day. it is not really heavy at all, just some cramps, weird pain and i feel as though tomorrow will be the first day of my period. (know what i mean, that day before yuck and cramping--when you know you should stock up on the dark chocolate...)
my last exam was in july... i think i will call tomorrow (monday) and get this checked i think it is weird...but i don't feel like i need to be seen right now...
thanks everyone, it feels so great to be able to have such amazing support no matter the ailment, you guys rock!
