For the past several days, when I go to the bathroom I have Green Stool (Sorry for being gross)  it's normal and all, but it's green for some reason.  I do have IBS, but I've never had this before..I don't have any pain at all, and I know last week I've had fruit loops for breakfast, so I'm thinking it's the different colors in the cereal that's doing it.  The last time I had that cereal was Saturday and even today when I go it's still green.  So I was just wondering if any of you with IBS have had this before??  Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Green stool can be caused by many things.  Are you eating a lot of leafy greens?  Are you taking vitamins / supplements?  Are you on any medication?

i actually had that a lot in college. i was eating a lot of salads too. foods do change its color, and even dyes in foods too, as far as i know. but when i brought it up to my doc he didn't seem to be overly concerned about it. but i still keep tabs on all my "input and outputs".

Yes, it happens all too often... either by dyes in the food or because food isn't fully digested as well. The weirdest thing I have had is drinking grape soda turned my poop green. Go figure LOL.

Well I haven't eaten a lot of salads at all in the past 2 weeks, all I know is that on and off I've had koolaid and fruit loops that are colorful.  I've eaten pretty much corn and potatoes as well.  So I don't know what to think of it.

That information that Lil posted the link for is very interesting. That the bile in our intestines is green and if colon transit time is faster than usual, it can come out green. I always thought of bile being yellow but I guess its where the bile is.
