Sorry if this has been discussed before.....

Has anyone tried this for IBS?

My last visit with a GI nurse prescribed this for me. I have yet to take it. I do have anxiety and pain with my digestive system. She said all my tests look like it's nothing else so IBS is my label. She is also having my try physical therapy, something about the muscles in my stomach area?

I am requesting another celiac test because recently I found out I have both genes positive for that disease. They brush me off on that one too because it's not severe enough for them to look further, meaning I don't have all the symptoms.

I just want to feel normal more often.

Hi tela, I did look in the archives here at HW about buspar & IBS. There was nothing really current that would have helped. Since you already have anxiety there is a very good chance you will get a two for one with the Buspar, help the anxiety & the IBS. Drs have been using medications like Buspar to treat ibs. I would certainly give it a try, keep in mind it can take several weeks to be fully effective, so don't look for success in a week or days.

Good luck.

I was once diagnosed with IBS. Decades later, I was diagnosed with celiac disease. My only symptom at the time was anemia. I had eliminated my GI issues by eliminating some foods, but not gluten. Celiac disease can be silent, systemic issues (rash, neurological, etc.) or have GI issues. Not all celiacs are wasting away from severe malnutrition. Know too that just checking for antibodies is not enough as some 10% of celiacs are seronegative. Celiac disease can be triggered at any age.

Did you try to find out what foods were bad for you on your own or did you find help?

I am unaware of what seronegative means.

I did have a test in 2013 and my numbers were negative. Same in 2017. GI issues worse now so I wonder....
Did have the dna test and I carry both genes, even though I know that is not a diagnosis.
