Hi Everyone,

I am new to the irritable bowel forum but have been recently diagnosed with this disease. I have had both EGD and colonoscopy done in the last month. I have acid reflux and esophageal spasms everyday. I take Dexilant for this problem. Nothing of interest detected from colonoscopy.

My main problem is I have a ton of lower abdominal cramping and bloating everyday. I take a probiotic and take a med call donnatal. I also have bentyl and levsin meds. I am mostly IBS-C but every two months or so I get a week of IBS-D. I have a ton of stress in my life and no way to remove it. I was given Cymbalta for the stress but so far its not working.

I have gotten to the point of not wanting to eat as it just triggers abdominal pain a few hours later. I have been dealing with this for a year now and have a gastro dr but not having much luck ending my IBS. I have dropped about forty pounds in the last year but holding steady now.

I watch what I eat and try not to stress but am the type of person who is always worrying about the least little thing. I just cant change who I am.

Does anyone have any suggestions of anxiety meds that work well? Any ideas on how to get IBS to go away? I know that's probably not possible. I want to thank anyone who answers.

Did they they biopsy for celiac disease during your endoscopy? Consider asking for a celiac disease blood panel. What was the root cause of your reflux? Did gastric biopsies reveal anything else?
