Hiya,

Today Ive had awful lower left sided pain all day.  Its like a sharp pulling pain thats driving me mad.  My stools have been v thin, long and stringy too so I think its just all linked.  Ive had about 4 good days in a row though this week and I had been eating quite well (eg. fruit and veg) but the last 2 days Ive eaten pretty rubbish really so I dont know if thats it or whether its a coincidence.  I hate that I have to think so much about going to the loo. My partner is so regular and goes the same time every day and I'm soooo jealous!!  How sad is that!!

Your colon is on the left side. I remember the first day I saw my GI doc (after a night of D) she pressed on my lower left abdomen and I almost shrieked. She told me my colon was probably just sore from spasming and releasing so much stool the night before. It could be you are having the same issue. It could also be the rubbish food you are eating that is causing your colon not to be happy with you. Or, I've read, that Diverticulosis (& Diverticulitis) often causes pain in this region. Was your scope clear?

I had a colonoscopy abt a year ago and a sigmoidoscopy abt 7 mths ago and they were both fine so I think its just IBS although I do get rectal ulcers but the GI said that my biopsies and bloods were fine so its the constipation from the ibs thats causing the ulcers

I seem to recall that someone on here said that thin poop was a sign of inflammation--I think in the rectum. That doesn't mean an IBD, just that you've made down there mad.

Man, the same time every day? I usually go in the mornings, and most mornings I go before work, but to go at the same exact time; lol, how convenient. But even when I go in the morning, that doesn't mean I won't have little afterthought poos whenever I go have a pee throughout the day. Not diarrhea, just, a little extra here and there. I don't even feel like I have to go until I sit down on the toliet.

I was always jealous of those girls who had periods like clockwork. I knew one girl who said hers even started at the same time of the day every month. Mine was all over the place. I can see how you'd be jealous of regular poos!

Thanks Keri,
I had never heard that thin poo was a sign of inflammation. That would make sense. I hate having IBS, it drives me nuts!!!

I'm aching on my left side now, I think the pain is coming from gas pressure and I know eventually I'll have very bad D.
