Someone please help. I recently had Subtotal Colectomy w/Ileorectal Anastomoses surgery in November. After 40 yes of suffering, I was diagnosed with Colonic Inertia. 40yrs of chronic constipation, vomiting stool, stage 2 CKD with Hypokalemia and Metabolic Acidosis. All cause by a long history of bowel issues.

Even after the surgery, I still have slow motility in the small intestines, causing horrible constipation. I have taken and tried may things. I feel lost and frustrated. I constantly have tummy pain and discomfort.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Please help!

So sorry to read about your suffering. What does your drs say about this? I don't know if you have tried Linzess or not. It is a prescription medication used to treat constipation issues only. If you haven't tried it, ask your drs for a prescription of it. It's expensive & sometimes insurance will not approve it, however, if your dr will do an appeal he can get it approved.

Sadly this forum is extremely slow & you will not get any replies. Have you checked other online forums geared towards your particular surgery?

Good morning Susie,

Yes, I have been on Linzess 290mcg for years now, it helps a little bit; sometimes I have to take two of my Linzess at the same time, which is not recommended.

I have an appointment coming up with my motility doctor to discuss getting a “stimulator” (I am not sure what it is called) placed into my small intestines for better motility. This entails another surgery.

I have been looking for other support groups, but can’t find any. Do you know of anymore groups that you can recommend?
