Healingwell gives you a link to DrNutura products site.  The have a colon cleanse called Colonix pak.  Has anyone tried it.  I thought I would give it a try.

Be careful.  I see the ad you are looking at and above it it says "Ads by Google" which means that Google put the ads there, and HealingWell.com does not necessarily endorse that product or website.  In fact, I'm quite sure the forum does not endorse any of those sites/products, but rather sells ad space to Google who puts in ads that match up with the key words on this forum.

I think you'll find most of us on here don't really believe in colon cleansing products.  Doctors usually don't endorse them.  If you have D already, why give yourself more?  That's my stance, anyways.  And if you are constipated and need a cleaning out, ask your doctor if you can't take the go-lyghtly or phospho-soda that they make people use before a colonoscopy.  You can buy both of those things over the counter (but make sure your doctor thinks it's okay for you to take them and make sure you don't used them too often); I'm sure both of those things are cheaper than a colon cleanse and anyone who's seen the pictures of their colonoscopy can tell you that those products more than get you cleaned out.

Keri, I second everything you wrote.

Jano, be careful if you do the colon cleanse. Please do it with medical supervision.

That is very upsetting to hear. I got to that link from the resources on the right of this page.  If it it isn't promoted by HealingWell.com than why is it made so availible through this site.  I have already ordered some of this stuff and was very excited to try it.  So how can I be sure that this is a legitimate company?

HealingWell does not endorse or control the ads Google displays. You should research any company before making a purchase.

I'm sorry you feel jipped. But, just because Healingwell doesn't personally recommend the company or its products doens't mean that it's not legitimate. Healingwell just sells ad space to Google, who puts up targeted links that people pay good money to have listed. Have to have the ad money so we can have this place for free.

I would suggest you call your dr.'s office and see if s/he has any problem with you trying this product. If not, then take it as directed. If you start pooping, then it's working. If you feel bad or hurt, then stop taking it.

I have heard that some colon cleanse companies claim that you know their product is getting out "built up" junk when you start pooping out black stringy bits. I don't buy into this since I had my colon perfectly emptied by the colonoscopy prep (I have pictures to prove it!) and I never pooped black. I think this is just the colon cleanse pills that you are taking that's turning your poop black (Pepto Bismol will also turn your stools black as a side affect--doesn't mean anything). But, the whole point is to get a laxative effect and poop your colon empty, and if it does that, well then, it's done what you paid money for it to do and it doesn't really make one difference or another if you pooped black, brown, yellow or purple.

I really don't see the need for this sort of thing other than for people who are constipated and who want to try and get backed up stuff out, but some people use it as part of a ritual/religious purification or do it before a fast and swear by it. It's not really a cure for anything in particular, just a way to flush out your system. If pooping yourself empty for the next 24 hours makes you feel better, then by all means, go for it. If I ever want to flush myself out, though, I'll just eat a whole pizza and drink a 2 liter coke. That'll give me the runs guaranteed!

Thanks for your input, I will know next time as far as products are concerned. I am going to go ahead and try it. I never get dairrhea, I just feel bloated all the time and things just don't pass through well. I am not really constipated either. It's just miserable at times. I'll let you know how it goes. It lists the ingredients on the product and I don't see anything that looks dangerous or worrisome at all. I have tried precriptions and fiber. Doesn't seem to work well. So, I thought I would try a differant route. That is a good question as regards the colonoscopy. I work in the medical field and I have seen pictures of the colon after the colonoscopy and it does look clean as a whistle. I probably won't be satisfied though until I give this alternative a try. And, like I said, I will let you know if it helps.
