i had to go to ear because i was in so much pain from the consipation and they gave me GoLYTLEY, and he told me not to take anymore zelnorms that they were working against me, he said that anytime they give u zelnorm for c that itz supose to relieve the symptoms and if ur still constipated that u could be having side affects of zelnorm, u wouldn't think that c would b one of the side affects well it is and thats why it wasn't working for me, so he told me to throw them in the trash and drink plenty of water and try to walk, becuase he said that walking helps the bowel work properly...i hope this is something that can help u or talk to ur docotor about, btw if ur having terrible headaches and dizzy spells, that is more side affects and that they shouldn't take zelnorm and itz not going to do u any good, that it would hurt u more than help u, only make the constipation worse

Angel,
I couldn't do the Zelnorm because of the side effects. Since that was out, my doctor then put me on Miralax which worked really well for me. I am no longer IBS-C (now I'm D) but had really good results when I was on it. BM every 1-3 days vs. 7-10 days that I was prior to taking it.

Hi my name is Manny and I have IBS-C my Doctor put me on Zelnorm and Miralax and I was taking it for about a year and now they have stoped working for me, he said my next visit we will discuss the use of AMITIZA (lubiprostone) he would like to put me on this and see how it works has anyone used this drug yet?  I know it was just released by the FDA this January.  Not only do I have IBS-C but I also have Prolaps of the Rectum and pelvic area and have to be real careful when I do go to the bathroom.  If someone out there has tried the new drug please e-mail me and thank you.

I had terrible dizzyness from Zelnorm and even cutting it in half it was just as bad. One tablet gave me diahrea, also which is why I cut it down. I was not impressed.
