hey all

have any of you guys been diagnosed with a bacteria overgrowth which might be contributing to your ibs? What are the tests for this?

I know symptoms include bloating and D, but is the D usually quite severe and what other symptoms might their be?

i'm just a bit curious ... :-)

Hi roadtrip,
The symptoms for bacteria overgrowth is normally D, pain, and bloating (which is just about the same as all other IBS causes). The most common test for this is a breath test. Your doctor should be able to conduct it if you ask for it.

i think i might have a similar problem, but might have been created by a biopsy which found ulcers....and I took anti biotics which killed off all the good stuff and i was in a battle to try and win my stomach over but everything appears to have just gone chaotic and i have D almost every day 4 times a day
