Happy Birthday JHP!!!

I don't drink much at all but when I do I either drink wine or I have an appletini... any type of alcohol can cause D (for me the next day) so keep that in mind. :)

Not for me anyway. I have heard many on hear state that beer causes them a lot of problems. Because of the fermentation and yeast, it tends to make our gassy selves just a tad more. The bloating and pain are what does me in with beer, not so much the D or C.

I think what we use is the green apple vodka and the apple pucker shnapps. My husband is the bartender in the house, I am dumb when it comes to mixing drinks but then again I don't drink much at all.

I have pretty good luck with sake.   It's rice based, maybe that's why.   I still pay for it a little but less than hard liquor or beer.

Sake is a Japanese wine, its in Japan pretty much like beer to the US.

JHP, You shouldn't have a problem ordering appletinis anywhere. The only thing I can think of is having a problem at a hole in the wall kind of bar but most everywhere serves it.

i like a good drink every once in a while too, although lately i've been staying of the alcohol because of my ibs

if i do go out drinking though and it's a special night i might pop an imodium beforehand so that i don't have to worry about problems that night

>.>

<.<

Of course, that doesn't make my guts feel any better the following day...

JHP, appletini's are usually made with vodka and apple puckers (when I bartended I used to throw in a splash of real apple juice too). Cosmopolitans are good too... if you like cranberry and lime.
When I drink I go straight for the hard stuff... shots. I don't want to drink a lot because I'll get bloated and gassy - so shots are the best way to go. I'll either space out my shots (so I don't have too many), or I'll pick a good alcohol and sip on a couple shots all night long.
Good luck!

I was really craving appletinis after this thread LOL. My hubby is going out of town this weekend for business so I asked him to make me a batch before he left. He puts smirnoff green apple vodka (flavored vodka... how cool is that???), apple pucker, and a splash of the sweet and sour stuff. I figured I better have one tonight in the spirit of things (since it is a green drink :)
