I am curious to know if anyone else experiences this with IBS.  I have IBS/Constipation and sometimes when I eat I get full really easily (and I burp A LOT after eating every time).  No one food bothers me more than another and fatty foods (which I hardly ever eat) don't make me sick.  I still do wonder if this could be my gall bladder?

Some insight to what may be causing this would be greatly appriecated :-)

Oh, I actually thought I read somewhere that IBS can cause you to feel full easily, but now I can't find where I read that....maybe I am losing my mind?

Thank you all for your help,

Natalie

Natalie,
It is possible that it could be your gallbladder. Also what comes to mind is GERD... have you had yourself checked for this? I have GERD (hasn't flared lately) and I will get really full and start burping. Another reason for this is that you may be swallowing too much air when you eat. Eating too fast and drinking through straws are the culprit of these. I'm sure someone will come and talk about gallbladder disease... we have a few on here.
Take Care

Hi Natalie,
That happens to me A LOT and I don't have a bad gallbladder, nor do I have GERD. I do, however, think I eat too fast.

Drinking with a straw causes you to consume more air? Huh, I would have thought it would make you take in less, unless you count sucking up the last few drops of liquid like a vacuum cleaner, lol. Me, I am bad about sipping on the edge of a cup and taking in air like that. My mother used to fuss on me for sucking so much air when I drank, telling me that I would give myself gas cramps.

If you haven't already, check out my post on the symptoms of gall bladder disease. While feeling full when you shouldn't be is one symptom, I've never heard of that being the only symptom; you usually have to have at least some pain, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea to go along with it.
