Hello Everyone J

There are a few other forums at Healing Well that do a special thread where everyone can contribute daily.  From what I observed, it’s where people talk about their symptoms that day or how they are feeling.  They also use it to vent or even just talk about something that made them happy that day.  We thought it might be a nice idea for us to do it too.  I know that sometimes just typing about your day gets a lot of things off your shoulders.  The only thing I ask is that we keep in mind the forum rules.  If you like the idea, go ahead and post away.

I guess I'll start... woke up today looking like a pregnant woman. Bloated as all heck!! Really gassy today :(

Kenny Chesney (for those who don't know... he's a country artist) tickets went on sale today and they sold out in like 2 minutes so needless to say didn't get any. All they had left were lawn tickets and I refuse!!! So really bummed about that. Oh well... I'm happy its Saturday anyway. Trying to figure out what to do tonight... I need to get out of this house before I go nuts!!!

Today I woke up not feeling so hot, it is that time of the month so I feel yucky in general. I've spent the first half of my day in bed and now I'm like dbab, I need to get out before I go nuts. The rain finally cleared up so I think I might go for a walk. Generally I use the weekends to splurge so I'll probably go to Chinese for dinner and keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't cause me "problems."

I didn't know you were a country fan, Des!  I'll have to ask Adam about Kenny Chesney.  One day we were getting in the car and we saw a George Strait CD lying in the snow - Adam nearly flipped his lid.  Ol' Georgie cracks him up, but he really gets into it.  Get a few beers into him and he'll even start crooning away.  Ah, yes, that lovely man of mine!

We went out last night and had some beers with my old neighbor.  I had a brief episode of insanity pain, the kind that knocks you over, the kind I've been getting recently just under my ribcage.  It is horrible!  Usually it takes several hours to go away but this one only lasted about 10 minutes.  I haven't figured out yet what it is, but it usually is linked to drinking, so I will have to figure out the pattern.  Holy moly jeez louise, it is the worst!

Tonight we are going salsa dancing.  Adam and I like to rip it up on the dance floor once in a while.  It's pretty fun, except for the machismo atmosphere...

Lil, Chinese YUM!!! Haven't had that in a long time because the last time caused a bad episode but its soooo tasty (especially Hunan style)

Sarita... Yeah, actually I have a very eclectic taste in music and I used to HATE country music until I really sat down and listened to it for a while. I live in Texas and almost everyone of all ages listens to country but its cool here unlike I guess most places. But I like all kinds of music. Kenny Chesney puts on a wonderful show so I was really wanting to go but oh well. George Strait is great also :)

Sorry you had an episode with the alcohol. Beer does it to me too.

Have fun dancing!! That sounds like so much fun :) Well didn't go anywhere tonight because my son's friend is staying over tonight so HIS parent's can go out (GEEZ!!!)

Hey guy's,

It's Sunday morning here in the UK and I haven't really started my day but here's my plans, take my pills of course, only 8 in the morning :-) Then all being well I'll be out on my mountain bike for about 2 hours, followed by a good clean up and then get my uniform prepared for work on Monday which is getting so close already! Why does the weekend have to fly by anyway??? Once that's done take the dogs out for a walk. My last chore of the day will be to go into work to hang my uniform up and then I'll just sit back and relax.

Everyone have a great Sunday and for those in the UK happy Mothers day.

Take care.

Sounds like a good day Dave... I plan on relaxing as much as possible today too since the work week starts back up tomorrow (your right, the weekends go by so fast). Its only 10:00 and I've managed to go get my car washed, take the dog to the groomers, and do a few other light errands. I want to take the rest of the day to relax as much as possible, maybe just a few loads of laundry and thats it.

Woke up again with so much gas. I think its because I had pizza crusts for dinner last night but I can't do the whole slice and I didn't feel like cooking anything because I didn't want to clean. Lazy, huh? LOL

Lil, how did the chinese food go?

Sarita, did you tear it up on the dance floor last night? :)

Today I actually woke up feeling great... I love the weekends! Like the rest of you, I think the weekends go by way too quickly. I get the Sunday night blues. I almost want to do nothing today so that my day drags by... I don't want the work week to start.
Chinese last night was terrific, thank you. No problems with it. :-)

I hope you all have a nice and relaxing Sunday...

No, we didn't go dancing - Adam got groggy in the evening after a nap and wasn't up for it.  Which is probably a good thing, because we had a very busy day today.  We and some friends of ours traveled about 70 miles north to a place called Hatcher's Pass, which is one of the most beautiful areas in Alaska, and went on a 6-mile hike through the snow.  It was a stunningly clear day, about 40 degrees (perfect!).  Kind of deep at the end of the hike - should have had snowshoes, as we sank in at times up to our hips!  It was invigorating and I didn't even have to stop to hunch over for a "letting" episode :-) .  Then we ate at a pub in the mountains, had a couple beers, and came home.  I am browned from the sun and happily exhausted.  I can't believe I have to go back to work tomorrow.  Good gravy...

Well I did what I said I was going to do yesterday... nothing :) My hubby actually did the few loads of laundry that I was going to do so I basically vegged all day which is good though because I actually needed the rest... and my back needed it too. Not much planned today, work and then I have a rheumy appointment to go over my blood work. I will let you all know how that goes. Didn't wake up gassy today, think I expelled it all over the weekend :) I hope you all have an "as good as can be" Monday and I'll check in later.

I still haven't gotten my stomach back in line after messing it up on vacation week before last. I'm taking a Welchol morning and most nights, plus a calcium pill in the morning and often at night too and an acidophillus pill a day since my poo is stinky and not bad on the bile--which makes me think I have a bad bug rather than the usual excess bile problem. Yesterday I wasn't good at all, between having several trips to the toliet and waking up with a headache that didn't want to go away (that's only the second time I've ever woken up with a headache in my life, and the first time that I had to take two doses of ibuprofen to make it go away--and even then it still lingered a bit until the afternoon).

Just an update on my rheumy appointment today... I have a new dx, more tests to come. I have been dx'd with Sjogren's syndrome which is an autoimmune disease that attacks the mucus glands. It also can cause joint inflammation. It can become serious attacking certain organs in your body too but my lab tests show that my liver, kidneys, and lungs all come up clear so that's a relief. Don't know too much about it yet so I am still researching. I'm still going in for my MRI because my doc still suspects spondyloarthopathy so will keep you updated on that too.

So, Des, do you really have IBS/UC, or is this Sjogren's disease attacking your intestines? Do they have medicines you can take that supress it? I'm sure they have their own inhereint dangers, like making you supsceptible to other diseases, though. Hmm, catch everything in the world or possibly stop having IBS. Could be a tough call.

I really want this thread to keep going. I think its healthy to get things off of your chest, IBS related or not. If there is anything that is bothering you and you need to talk about it... please post!!! :)

Well, no GI problems yesterday other than the regular D. I had massive road rage (yes, I'm bad with that) yesterday as I had so much running around to do and wanted to get home at a decent hour. I'm getting a lot of LLQ pain lately but its so intermidently (sp?) that I don't know if they are just random pains are not. You know those kind of pains that last 1 or 2 seconds?

Keri... I dont want to hijack this thread with my dx but I will say that the doc did say that this dx is not related to my other dx's other than it being an autoimmune disease like my UC. Still doing research, so much to learn.
