LOL roadtrip... great topic... need some laughs around here and I've been having trouble thinking of an OT type topic...

What do I do on the loo??? I'm usually talking to my dog because she likes to be in there with me (don't look at me, its her choice). I know weird :)

I'm terrible about reading magazines or dragging books along with me, although my pooping rarely takes longer than the time it takes me to read a paragraph. Sometimes when I'm bad sick with diarrhea, I won't read anything at all because I just can't concentrate on it, but when I'm only some bad, I often do read to take my mind off it. They say you're not supposed to read on the toliet because you shouldn't sit there any longer than you have to because it puts a strain on the rectum and causes hemmroids (I don't know, though, if that's a medical fact or an old-wives' tale). But it's hard to find someone who doesn't read on the toliet. I've been known to read the contents of my shampoo bottles, lol. I don't know what it is about the printed word that stimulates the bowels.

lol, since I'm in college I have plenty of stuff to to do for school and I've used my toilet time efficiently by reading stuff for class, studying, and doing my homework.

What is the "loo" stand for anyway? I've never heard of it before.

"The loo" is the oh-so-gentle term used in the United Kingdom for the crapper, Jason.

Lately, as my bowel problems have waned somewhat, I find that my gluttonous literary appetite has not been sated as much as it has been in the past; I used to read entire books on the throne (a paragraph here, a chapter there, depending on the condition of the garden hose).  Now I sit and smirk happily at the gloriousness that I have been producing for over a freakin' WEEK now (score!).

When I was in college, the various groups on campus disseminated information by putting up flyers in all the bathroom stalls, so I always had something to read, although sometimes stuff got left up in there for a while and it got old reading it every day, lol.

I do my business and get out... no reading, no talking on the phone, no distractions.
I'm a straight to the point kind of gal.  tongue

I don't dare hold anything in my hands because I am bad about dropping things into the toilet.

I admit if I am alone I sing and talk to myself.  LOL

If someone is home, then I run through errands in my mind or I quiz my mind, name all these kind of things.

I do try to not sit there long as well, I have found that standing up and moving around stimulates things better.

I don't know, Roadtrip; I seem to recall some toilets in Ireland that had adverts in them. I guess they figured they had a "captive" audience. Lol.

There is a great joke going around now that shows a picture of a toilet with a computer setup, phone, and assorted other things It is really funny and if you haven't gotten it yet in email I imagine that you will soon. it would be a perfect LOGO for us. It is really funny. Keep an eye out.

LOL... I saw that one before a long time ago. Talk about catering to your needs or maybe just the boss worried about losing productivity.

Stuart and I have jokingly talked about setting our house up to be wireless and mounting a flat screen panel on the wall opposite the toilet and putting a wireless laptop with track pad on it in the magazine rack so we could check e-mails in the morning, LOL.

You know we laugh at it, but people really do business while they are doing their business. Stuart says he sees guys at work all the time at the urinals talking on their cell phones, and I went into the bathroom a few weeks ago and there was a woman in the stall chatting away--I can only assume on her cell phone. I've heard tell that closet workaholics will take their laptops into the bathroom with them so they can hide and do more work.

Pretty sad really. Maybe a necessity for those of us who do have to live on the pot, but not something I would want to do all the time. I just don't know why anyone wants to work that much, lol.

I just really wouldn't want to subject the person on the other line to whats going on on my end. My hubby used to talk on the phone while in the bathroom and I finally broke him of that habit. Really gross if you ask me.
