I believe i have had ibs for quite some time. I have suffered from some intense cramping and pain, but not very often. I get mild cramping down low, but my biggest problem is the alternating b/ween c and d. Is anyone else's ibs like this?

Hi cbuc,
Although pain and cramping are one of the hallmark signs of IBS, it isn't always a symptom. Everyone is different with their symptoms. I am one that has the pains a lot but as pb4 said, some don't always get them.

Hi cbuc,
I'm exactly the same way... Minimal pain and cramping, but I alternate between D & C. Sometimes when I have a bad attack I will have cramping that goes away after a BM.

hey, i don't usually get much pain and if i do it's usually just before i have to run to the loo anyway - much like 'normal' people i suppose when they have the odd bout of D

my stomach seems to be constantly upset but isn't really painfull as such, just 'not right'

I'm exactly the same as you, roadtrip. I rarely get random cramping, its always before an episode. My stomach is always in knots. It feels like its eating itself haha

It does seem to be different for every individual.  When I was first diagnosed I had severe pain which would be completely relieved after a solid stool, but that would be followed by nothing but D.  Now I do not have the severe pain, just cramping, and nothing but D - nothing solid.

I didn't have much pain but I had terrible nausea especially in the middle of the night which ginger capsules took care of. Sometimes it feels like my stomach is shaking and then I feel the gas moving and all is back to normal, whatever that is.
