Went to interalist today, all blood work came back good. I'm still having pains directly below left ribs & ocas. right. I also have hemi's soooo bad she thinks sub consciously I am constipating myself. I feel like I could just poop all over myself but nothing comes out. I asked her about a blockage. She agreed it could be possible so sent me for CT scan with contrast & some thick nasty drink. I have had these before & they make me shake ,tremble & freeze. Today was different, as soon as the dye hit I thought my stomach would explode! I think it scared them as much as me. She actually seen my stomach, it only lasted a few seconds. but then my BP & pulse went up, my hands became numb & tingly, then I started trembling so bad I could not control it. They kept asking if I was having trouble breathing. I didn't think I was but then I started wheezing. They took me back to my docs office & they done EKG which was fine. They said everthing I done except stomach pulsing was signs of allergic reaction to the dye.

has this ever happened to someone??    I just had a scope down in my stomach in march & gi swears he couldn't find anything.

When I was reading your story I immediately thought of an allergic reaction also. I have never had this problem myself. Were they able to get a reading? I would definitely see if maybe since you had this reaction if the best thing to consider might be the capsule endoscopy. I would definitely consider asking her if this might be a better route.

Sorry you had that bad experience. It sure can be scary enough going for these tests however you had a more rougher go with it.

I often have pain on my left side too and have concluded that it's probably from the colon pinching down as it makes the turn down the side. Came across a Gasto practice's websit that showed that a few years ago. Don't really know what to do about it, but at least in my case, I don't think it's serious, just annoying.

Yes, they did get a reading & everything looked normal& no constrictions.doc called today wanting me to go back to my gastro. I told her it would do no good, he has allready told me any further testing would be usless. I also asked her about a condition my cousin had developed. It is called vascolitis. his symptoms was like mine. At first they wanted to remove his gall-b. He had never had trouble with his bowels before ,but thenstarted hurting in colon, became constipated & developed hemi's. He was sick & could not eat, he was actually hospitalized before they found it.He tells me that this is suposed to be hereditary. Since my veins in my feet have been swelling she thinks it be a good ideal for me to be tested ( blood work ) I am not dx-ing myself, I'm just not willing to give up! Anyone with these symptoms it might be worth checking into. My cousin was put on steroids for 45 days & has had no problems since. I think it is terrible how docs say IBS & want to push you off on another doc to get rid of you. And what is worse we pretty much have to tell them what tests to run. If this comes up empty for me I'm thinking about going to IL. to see my cousins doc. I'm just so desperate to have my life back & i'm not buying IBS ---- anymore because they don't want to be bothered with people who have real symptoms. I guess most docs don't like a challenge. If this don't help me maybe it can someone else.

Whatever you do, when you have any testing done tell them you had an allergic reaction to the dye they used for this procedure!!!!  My mother passed away in 2000.  She had a heart attack and they used a dye for the angiogram.  She told them she had an allergic reaction to dyes before but they used it anyway and she had a severe reaction to the dye.  Her skin was burned and scaling off all over her body.  If it did that kind of damage to the outside, what do you think it did to her insides.  She didn't recover by the way.  Soooooo whatever you do.. TELL THEM!  Make them listen!
