I called that new primary care physician that is giving me so much trouble and who promised me a referral to a gastroenterologist 2 weeks ago. He said he thinks he can get me in to see one in 2 weeks from today. At 4:00 this morning, I went to the ER. I couldn't take it any more. The Er doctor ordered a blood workup. about an hour later he comes back into the room followed by the ER nurse who was carrying a cup with 2 pepcid pills in it and discharge papers! He told me my gallbladder was fine, my liver is fine, and my glucose is fine! What! I am doubled over in pain from constipation and an ulcer and he's checking my liver and glucose. He then told me to go home and drink yet another bottle of Magnesium Citrate and see a gastroenterologist right away. He did no x-rays, no ultrasound, ct. No films at all! I was so upset. I went home feeling no better. I was so upset and didn't know what to do. What is wrong with these doctors? I'm really having a bad string of luck here. I decided to called my neurologist who has taken care of me for six years for my neurological disorder (RSD) and told him what was happening. I know it's not his field of expertise but he's always helped me when I'm in a jam. He said he is going to get me in to see a gastroenterologist. I trust him. He's a fabulous doctor. He'll get me some help. I had no other choice but to call him. I was being told to drink a bottle of Mag. Citrate everyday! Take fiber caplets and an antacid. I'm getting sicker and the other doctors wouldn't help me. I can't believe this! I really want to thank all of you for all of your help and replies. You have been far more helpful to me than the doctors I've seen for this. I am so grateful to all of you.
