Seems like 1st thing in the morning my 1st BM is uaually good actually Normal! sloid and all that I am looking for. But it seems like after that one its more or less back to the loose stool again. I get up for work like 2 hrs early so I can take my metamucial, lomotil and calcium and settle my stomach before I need to go in. But back to the BM's. Since my 1st one is improving does that mean that the stuff I am taking is starting to kick in(metamucial--almost 2 weeks and calcium almost 1 full week). Should I expect to see further improvement? Liek I said after that 1st BM of the morning it seems to go right bad to the same old problem???

Help and advice!!!  Thanks!

Hi gymrat,
My 1st BM in the morning is usually (more) solid as well.  My theory is that your stool sits in there all night and your intestines soak up all the excess water.  By the time you have to go the 2nd (& 3rd, & 4th) time your guts don't have time to work properly, thus the watery or loose stool.
Maybe someone else will come along with another theory...
I say, keep with the metamucil regardless.  tongue

But the routine Im doing every morning has kept me from going usually from 7:00am untill later on that night...around 8 or 9pm. Do you see any problem with me continuing this routine.( as long as Im still going I think that is the good thing...so Im not all blocked up) A few times during the day I feel like I need to go but I think its just my nerves because when we do stop and I try to go its nothing. But the biggest thing I was wondering about is taking the 1 lomotil every morning I dont see any problem with that due to I see some people on here  taking 7-8 a day. I am not going to take any lomotil on the weekends to take a break form it and see how my body reacts to that and then go from there next week. If I feel I need that 1 pill in the morning then I will take it.
