okey dokey

so firstly a big howdy ho to everyone here and its so nice to find a forum of people who know exactly how I feel-that sounds big headed doesnt it?

Last year i was told by the Dr i had PCOS, i didnt go back to the Dr's because my mum was diagnosed with cancer and i couldnt cut myself in half. This week i went back to the Dr because the pain had got worse.

For ages now i've been getting bad cramps and my belly has swollen so big and the pain is something else. I told the Doctor all this and he says it isnt the PCOS - I have IBS.

He's given me some Colpermin tablets which i've been taking for 3 days. I do feel better but i only have to eat one mouthful of food and i'm full. my belly goes down but it swells up which must mean i'm eating the wrong stuff. I feel sick all the time and i'm getting very fed up and confused about what my body is doing.

I feel like i dont want to eat anything ever again!

Please can someone help me!!!!! confused confused confused

Hi and welcome,

Did you see a regular MD or a gastroenterologist? I saw so many MDs and they didn't help me at all. My stomach was is so bloated too! I know if you eat a lot of fiber it will bloat your stomach but I would really see a GI doctor. They will be able to help you. I am so sorry that you are going through this. I am also sorry to hear about your mother. If you see a GI doctor they can diagnose what is wrong and give you the proper treatment so you won't have to feel this way any longer. I went yesterday and saw one. Hope this helps some. Take care.

Hi hanby,
Welcome to Healing Well :)

Sounds very familiar with the fullness that you get. Bloating and gas can cause horrible pains and can distend your stomach and make you feel awful and full. I looked up Compermin on google since I never heard of it and it seems to be an antispasmodic. These can help with the cramping that you get but not so much on the gas. I would definitely mention to your doctor that its not helping with the bloating if thats what he gave them to you for. Peppermint is really good for gas, I like the tea however there pills as well. There are also phayzme tablets that can give you relief. Mention this to your doctor and see if he can recommend something else if these don't work for you.

Hi photogurl,

Welcome as well :)

Mucus is normally produced by the intestines and excess is often seen in IBS. Green mucus anywhere is not a healthy sign as any secretions in green most often indicate infection. I would definitely bring this to your doctor's attention right away.

Also, you may want to post your question in a seperate topic so it does not get overlooked. Look forward to your post.

I agree with the last post. A minimal amount of mucus can be normal every once and a while and can indicate IBS but the green can be a sign of infection. You definitely need to be seen by a doctor to be on the safe side. I hope you feel better soon. Take care

Green color could also indicate things are moving through way too fast.

Definitely see a doctor. Take care, hugs.
