Hi to the Well.com Forum.

I guess I'll be using Nancier. Close as I could come to real name mixed with nick from another board.
Question: Can I take Correctol with Zelnorm until it "kicks in" I mean like my usual 7 to 10 Correctol I was having to take without it.? Reason I Ask: I hear it takes Zelnorm up to 4 wks to work.

Thanks.

It took me one day. I would not use anything for a few days until you see how it goes. Zelnorm cramped me up so bad I went like crazy, cut it back to on half tablet and was so dizzy I couldn't stand up. I don't think you should use it but if in doubt ask you Dr. I think when they say 4 weeks they mean to level everything out. obviously I no longer take it.

Canyonbabe711 --

Yeah, what you said turned out to be true. It's working and it's just been a few days.
Wished I had known about this stuff the past 17 years. I like Zelnorm.

It hasnt been around that long. I finally got back on track and seriously doubt that I had IBS at all. In my case I think I just had gotten my stomach out of balance and was not aware that dairy was making it worse. Once I stopped the dairy, took the probiotics and watched somewhat what I ate I have had a couple months with no problem so I am back to square on. I will stay on the probiotics though as I don't get the bloat with them. Glad Zelnorm worked for you.

Wow, Canyon, I hadn't heard the good news that you're regular now. Great!

Thanks, it is a relief to not be in distress. Mine lasted almost 6 months but I think had been coming on for ages on and off. I do believe that possibly excess citrus as in Mai Tai's caused part of the problem of unbalance. Anyway, good for now. Because of the way it got less and less day by day it was more of an unbalance. Also, I had much more nausea than I have heard anyone else have with IBS. But I am dying for a couple Mai Tai's in the future. LOL

I wonder if the gastroenterologist still needs to see me. The Zelnorm is doing its job. I joined the board to talk about this. I was taking 10 Correctol per night. So what a relief. And no nausea.

I guess I got lucky. Well, unless something goes wrong, I don't have other gastrointestinal issues. I'll check back in a few weeks to let you folks know how it's doing.

Thanks.

Hi Nancier,
FYI... Zelnorm has been known to loose its affect after a little while. I hope in your case it doesn't. For me, however, it stopped working after a couple months.
Best of luck!! Please keep us posted.
