Are gurgles and rumbling common with IBS?  MIne starts almost as soon as I wake up.  Sometimes it makes so much noise I am embarassed that others can hear.  I also sometimes feel nauseated.  Does anyone else get this?

Stomach rumbling is common in IBS. They call it stomach rumbling but it does most commonly come from the intestines. Gas seems to be the number one cause but a lot of times its also caused by contractions in you intestines which in many (including me) is why when we get these rumblings, we are headed to the bathroom shortly after.

I have rumblings all the time as well.  Usually it's nothing, but sometimes it will be with nausea and D.  sad

yeah i have it too...its very annoying and quite unsettling at the same time.

I have rumbling all the time also and yes this is very annoying but most of the time it does mean a trip to the bathroom shortly after the rumbles.

Oh my gosh, you should have heard my guts before I was Dx with IBS-D!  I was at my in-laws house and they went outside and yelled at the dogs because they thought they were howling....it was really my guts!  How embarassing.  It has got better since then.  That was a few months ago.  Sometimes, it lets it presence be known.  cool

Hi guys my name is Kerri and I have IBS.  It's really bad that sometimes I cant even make it to the bathroom my stomach starts rumbling and I have to go.  The doctor has me on Lonox for diarrhea, and Bentyl for cramping but I only take it every once in a while now.  And now since I have had this when I go places I get worried if I dont know where the bathroom is and my stomach starts. But, thats what I have found works pretty good especially the Lonox. :-)
